David Foldvari

Modern inventions like the camera may speed up the process of capturing a timeless image, but the camera will never do justice to the ability of an illustrator like David Foldvari to render timelessness from imagination. What intrigues me about David Foldvari is that with his montages of seemingly cut and pasted figures, organized graphically I begin to wonder if his imagination would have produced such illustrations if he had never been aware of manipulating an image digitally. Then again I remember the first time I saw a Dali and was blown away by the ability for an artist in a pre computer world to fracture image into miniscule fragments rendered entirely from paint.
