Camille Rose Garcia at Jonathan LeVine last weekend

I waited to post this until The Jonathan LeVine gallery had a chance to put their own pics up out of respect for everyone. Camille Rose Garcia’s work was breathtaking. I can’t speak for what inspires Camille to paint. A couple days before the show I was reading about Van Gogh’s approach to art vs. Gauguin. Van Gogh favored painting from nature, while Guaguin painted from imagination. While looking at Camille Rose Garcia’s work I began to wonder where she fits into this argument. Does she paint from a combination of both?

Here is my favorite painting from the show.

And here is a shot of the crowd.
